Senior Product Manager - Content Discovery (12-month FTC)

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team to take the helm of the Content Discovery team. This is a 12-month maternity cover role.

Yoto’s Product Team


The Content Discovery team is one of our “Mission teams” at Yoto that work as part of the family experience cluster. These are cross-functional teams designed to operate as autonomously as possible. Content Discovery is all about helping families find and engage with the perfect content for their children - whether it’s a new favourite story, a beloved album, or something educational.

This 12-month maternity cover role comes at an exciting time to have high impact shaping how our families will discover and engage with content.

We’ve got plenty of exciting challenges and opportunities ahead. A big focus is refining the full content browsing journey - from discovery and recommendations to repeat plays of their favourite audio.

As we grow we need systems in place to support expansion of our content offering that includes optimising our navigation, search, filters, categories, recommendations and personalisation to make it easier for families around the world to find what they love.




What you’ll be doing
:

    • Shape and deliver the Content Discovery strategy, ensuring families can effortlessly find new audio adventures and return to the stories, music and podcasts their kids love most.
    • Own and evolve the key discovery journeys across Web and App — including our Discover and Library tabs, search, categories and recommendations — to make exploration feel simple, joyful and intuitive.
    • Work to increase active listening minutes per family, balancing the excitement of discovering something new with the comfort of repeat plays.
    • Build and nurture a new team, fostering a collaborative, fast-paced and outcomes-driven culture.
    • Partner closely with Content and Commercial teams to enhance curated merchandising capabilities (for example, supporting the release of our amazing new content titles) and enable more personalised, data-informed recommendations.
    • Play an active role in the UX refresh of the Yoto App, ensuring navigation, features and design all support a seamless discovery and engagement experience.
    • Deliver discovery and engagement improvements that make content easy to find — whether paid, free or subscription-based — and ensure families can quickly access what they’ve recently listened to.
    • In partnership with our Data team, establish robust reporting on content discovery and engagement to help us measure impact and make smarter decisions.
    • Launch our recommendations strategy, spanning manual curation, automated personalisation and adaptive experiences.
    • Explore emerging opportunities, from using AI to supercharge discovery (think agentic search and intelligent recommendations) to experimenting with new ways to monetise content.

What you’ll bring:

  • A strong track record in product management, ideally with experience across both web and app platforms.
  • A sharp understanding of what makes a great digital discovery experience - from intuitive filters to personalised recommendations.
  • Comfortable working with backend and data teams - you understand how foundational product metadata impacts the end-user experience
  • Ideally, hands-on experience building and evaluating recommendation algorithms, comfortable working with data scientists to craft the best experience
  • Confident leading discovery work - from identifying user needs to validating solutions and shaping MVPs.
  • Experienced working cross-functionally with commercial, content, and retention marketing teams to drive outcomes.
  • Excited by the potential of AI and emerging technologies to enhance product experiences.
  • A thoughtful communicator who brings teams - and stakeholders - along the journey.
  • Passionate about building great products for families, with a keen sense for balancing business goals with user needs.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment - happy to roll up your sleeves, get stuck in, and help bring a new team to maturity.



Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 based on experience. We never want to miss out on great candidates, so don’t let our banding put you off reaching out - there’s sometimes flexibility for the right fit!



What you can expect from Yoto:

  • Flexibility: Hybrid working - expectation of 1 day a week on average in our London office, but you are welcome to come in more than this. How you meet the minimum expectation is up to you, to ensure you're happy and productive in your role whilst also getting that vital face time with your colleagues. Take advantage of our ‘work from anywhere’ policy to work from a different location for up to 6 weeks every year. Summer Hours policy to use between the months of June and August.
