Full-Stack Software Engineer

Build foundational infrastructure for next-generation AI-native workflows in biopharma

At Equator, we are transforming how biopharma launch teams operate.
We believe AI-native workflows will define the future of operational excellence. That’s why we’re building intelligent, agentic systems that combine knowledge graphs, structured data, and natural language interfaces to drive faster, more informed decision-making across the enterprise.

Equator empowers launch excellence with secure, scalable AI solutions tailored for real-world execution. Our technology is built for compliance, collaboration, and clarity allowing teams to turn complex planning into repeatable, data-driven workflows.

Meet the team

We’re a small, senior, and fast-moving team obsessed with deep systems thinking and elegant interfaces. We work closely with early customers at leading biopharma companies to design high-leverage tools for real users solving real problems.

As an engineer at Equator, you’ll have a direct and visible impact on our product, users, and company. You’ll ship end-to-end features, collaborate directly with design and users, and help shape the foundation of an entirely new category of AI-native enterprise software.

This is a true full-stack role with deep product ownership. You’ll work across the stack from the primitives of data versioning and infrastructure to high-clarity interfaces that surface complex, nonlinear workflows for users and AI agents alike.

What you’ll be doing

Build backend foundations

  • Architect our core data systems – Design versioned, auditable, high-throughput infrastructure to power Equator’s knowledge graph.

  • Think deeply about scale, correctness, and complexity – Tackle real trade-offs around read/write balance, lineage, branching, and consistency.

  • Model intelligent collaboration – Build APIs and workflows that enable humans and AI agents to coordinate through structured + unstructured data.

Craft modern, flexible frontends

  • Design intelligent UIs – Build clear, composable interfaces for users to navigate, edit, and understand complex workflows.

  • Invent new UX patterns for LLM-era software – Go beyond forms and dashboards; blend structured UI with natural language interaction.

  • Own our design system – Extend our Tailwind + Radix UI + shadcn/ui setup with ergonomic, accessible components grounded in our product’s semantics.

  • Work directly with users – Partner with designers and early customers to refine UX and ship features that matter.

What you need to succeed

  • You’re a first-principles thinker who deeply understands systems, from data modeling to UI ergonomics.

  • You have hands-on experience designing data-intensive systems, ideally with PostgreSQL (bonus for versioning, RLS, concurrency control).

  • You’re proficient in both frontend (React, Next.js, TypeScript) and backend (Node.js, SQL, RPC) development.

  • You bring a strong bias toward shipping, even in ambiguity. You know how to build robust systems iteratively.

  • You’re pragmatic, adaptable, and unafraid to change course based on user feedback or better ideas.

  • You’re a clear communicator – whether explaining a database migration or discussing product tradeoffs with non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with our stack is a plus: Next.js, Supabase, Inngest, Modal, shadcn/ui, Tailwind, Radix UI, Zod.

Why you’ll love working at Equator

  • End-to-end ownership in a small, high-trust team

  • Direct access to real users solving real-world challenges

  • Greenfield opportunities to shape architecture and UX from first principles

  • Flexible remote setup with occasional in-person working sessions

  • Backed by world-class investors and solving deep problems in a massive industry

  • Opportunity to redefine knowledge infrastructure for the LLM era

  • Strong mission to ensure our mission-critical institutions accelerate humanity's success

Our Values

Low Ego – We discuss ideas with strong opinions, weakly held.
Ownership – We take responsibility for outcomes, not just deliverables.
Clarity – We strive to make the complex understandable for our users and for each other.
First-principles thinking – We challenge assumptions and design from the ground up.
Velocity – We value iteration, shipping fast, and learning faster while ensuring scalability.
Mission-first – We ensure that the mission-critical institutions we support receive the highest standards.

We believe innovation is strongest when teams are composed of individuals with varying backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We encourage candidates from all walks of life to apply even if you don’t meet 100% of the criteria. If you’re excited about the role and our mission, we’d love to hear from you.
